Different rounds of selection in PSU
Description
After clearing the GATE examination and
obtaining the threshold score for a particular PSU these public sectors conduct
their own selection procedures to select the candidates for their services.
These are mainly categorized as follows:

Group
Discussion Round (GD): This
round is a bone of contention for most of the students hailing from non-English
background or having very little exposure to public speaking and generally
hesitates to express their views in public. It is a crucial round conducted for
the shortlisting of the candidates. Good communication skills, thorough topic
knowledge, zeal to catch point from others, team spirit, patience level and
presence of mind and leadership qualities are the major parameters to be
considered in a GD.

Personal
Interview (PI): A tough but
simple analysis of the overall persona of an individual including technical as
well as general perception for various sensitive issues is judged in this
round. Positive attitude, body language, good communication skills are
important in clearing the personal interviews. Candidates should look
presentable with descent dress code both for males and females (formals) is
encouraged having a restrain from fancy hair styles and tacky makeup.
