Core and Non Core Sector Jobs

Description

Core sector- If an engineer decides to work in the field which he graduated then that is the core sector that particular individual.

Non-core sector- If the engineer after graduation realises that his area of interest is in some other field and because of circumstances he decides to work in sector different from his field, then that is a non-core sector for that individual.

The engineer branches majorly constitute CIVIL,MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL ELECTRONICS, CS,IT.

The competitive examinations can All India Level and State level.

In All India level jobs, a few are as follows-

Topmost among All India Jobs is

  1. ENGINEERING SERVICES conducted by UPSC- This examination is for civil, mechanical, electrical and electronics & telecommunication engineering.
  2. CIVIL SERVICES- This will be in the non-core sector of category. The minimum educational qualification required is graduation. A lot the Engineering graduates are opting for this examination.
  3. SCIENTIST/ENGINEER BY INSTITUTES like BARC, ISRO, NPCIL etc.-This examination is for almost all branches.
  4. Engineering Trainee post by Public Sector Enterprises like INDIAN OIL CORPORATION LTD., GAS AUTHORITY OF INDIA LTD., COAL INDIA LTD., POWER GRID CORPORATION LTD., NATIONAL HIGHWAY AUTHORITY OF INDIA, HINDUSTAN PETROLEUM CORPORATION LTD., HINDUSTAN AERONAUTICS LTD. and many more via GATE and their respective examinations.- This examination is for almost all branches.
  5. Specialist Officer(civil) in banking sector.
  6. SSC CGL examination conducted every year by Staff Selection Commission.
  7. Bank PO through IBPS.

In State level jobs a few are as follows-

ASSISTANT ENGINEER through various State Public Service Comission Examinations.Assistant Engineer through respective exams in various state level departments like JAL NIGAM, POWER CORPORATION, URBAN DEVELOPMENT, NIRMAN NIGAM and many more.

PRIVATE SECTOR-

  1. Graduate Engineer Trainee's in Construction firms like L&T, HCC, Nargarjuna, Samsung, Leighton etc.You can also work in consultancy firms.
  2. Software Engineer through eLitmus examination, online examinations etc.
