How to Prepare for PSU ?
Description
The
entry to these PSUs was initially through a separate written examination
conducted for each Maharatna, Navratna and Miniratna but now these PSUs have
standardized GATE as the only gateway to get a direct entry tob the public
sector. Some government sectors like SAIL, BARC, DRDO, etc aslo have their
separate examination as well as entry through GATE. The GATE examination paper consists
of two major sections:
Technical Section: Subject specialization of related stream
Non-Technical Section: General Awareness, Current Affairs, English Language,
Reasoning & Aptitude. To crack theses
PSUs competitive exam, a candidate should be well versed in both technical and
non-technical sections having 50% to 70% questions are from technical and
remaining questions from non-technical sections. The papers also contain
elements like negative marking for the wrong choices made so one has to be
vigilant while attempting the question through guess work. A candidate should
have a thorough idea of the previous year questions asked. Smart work and strategy
coupled with effective time management is the key to success for getting an
entry into these PSUs. Use shortcut techniques for numerical solving instead of
traditional methods to save time. A careful analysis of the important and
frequently asked topics is an important part of the preparation phase. Solving
the questions in the given stipulated time domain should always be encouraged
to have a good score in such types of examinations.
