to be one of the toughest examination of the country, Indian Administrative
Services Examination is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission)
every to select the best brains of the country for the various administrative
posts. The selected candidates have a lot of political power to carry out
certain important decisions with respect to the proper functioning of the
country. The Civil Services offers premier job opportunities and challenging
career. The selected candidates are also an integral part of the system
involved in various responsibilities like framing of the policies,
implementation, law and order, general administration, development of new
projects etc. Many posts like Sub-Divisional Magistrate, District Magistrate,
Divisional Commissioner, Principal Secretaries/Financial Commissioners, Chief
Secretary of state or central government are given to the successful candidates
every year. The Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT), under Ministry of
Personnel, Public Grievances & Pension, is the cadre controlling authority
for the concerned area.
