Diploma
Description
Apart
from the medical, engineering, charted accountancy, law and many such wonderful
areas, diploma course in engineering are also very famous among the youth which
involves subjects based on the fundamental engineering concepts quite different
from the core engineering aspects focusing more on the practical knowledge. Diploma
being a professional course is planned in such a way that students may get a
job in the field of engineering after getting the degree for
diploma. Those who couldn’t get an admission in B.E.or B.Tech programmes, get
themselves enrolled in a Diploma of Engineering course, as it facilitates them a
second chance to get transferred into the second year of the B.Tech or B.E
course as lateral entry. This, in effect, means the student may not have to
take the eleventh and twelfth class exams and they can join the diploma courses
just after their high school examinations. So, instead of the last two years of
school and four years of the degree engineering course (a total of six years),
the same qualification is achieved in the same amount of time with three years
of a diploma course and three years of the degree course after the direct
transfer. Entry to these diploma courses are channeled through entrance exams
like JEE Main (previously AIEEE), JEE Advanced (previously
IIT-JEE), and individual state and college Common Entrance Tests can be
bypassed and avoided.
